Welcome from the Chair
Dear Colleagues,
Welcome to this virtual online conference, an exclusive meeting dedicated to the latest developments in scientific research in the field of nutrient research, with a focus on innovations for health and sustainability. This conference aims to serve as a multidisciplinary platform for the exploration of innovative research and advancements in nutrient science. Emphasizing both macro- and micronutrients, the conference will delve into novel methodologies for nutrient extraction, bioavailability, and functional food development. Analytical techniques such as metabolomics, proteomics, and nutrient profiling will be discussed in the context of their application to food safety and quality. As the global search for healthier and more sustainable diets intensifies, the role of nutrients and lifestyle modification are at the forefront. For a healthier and more sustainable diet, it is clear that most people will need to incorporate more plant-based foods into their diet. Moreover, as we strive to feed a growing world population, the role of plant-based foods becomes increasingly critical. The aim is to explore the effectiveness of using plant-based nutrition as a primary approach in preventing, suspending, and even reversing chronic diseases. Furthermore, the conference aims to foster dialogue on the critical intersections between nutrient science, public health, and sustainable food systems. Our collective goal is to challenge existing scientific paradigms, broaden the scope of research, and contribute to an integrated approach where innovation, health, and sustainability coexist harmoniously.
The topics of this conference include:
S1. Plant-Based Diets: Health and Well-being
S2. Innovation in Dietary Choices
S3. Diet and Chronic Disease Management
S4. Global Nutrition Trends: Shaping Health and Athletic Performance
S5. Behavioral Approaches to Healthier Eating
S6. Nutrition Across the Lifespan
I extend my warmest welcome to you, esteemed scholars and experts, as participants of this virtual online conference. Together, we will embark on a journey into the diverse world of plant-based nutrition, sharing knowledge and discoveries that will shape the future of food systems for the benefit of humanity and the planet.
Best wishes,
Dr. Mauro Lombardo

With over 20 years in medicine and a specialization in Food Science, I have focused my career on bridging the gap between clinical practice and academic research. For a decade, I served in pivotal clinical roles, primarily at Tor Vergata Hospital in Rome, where I concentrated on obesity treatment and body composition analysis. My research interests are varied, covering areas such as obesity prevention, sports medicine, nutritional biochemistry, and the benefits of the Mediterranean diet. I have a particular focus on nutrition assessment and therapy, aiming to provide holistic solutions for obesity and related health issues.

Registration
The registration for IECN 2024 will be free of charge! The registration includes attendance to all conference sessions.
If you are registering several people under the same registration, please do not use the same email address for each person, but their individual university email addresses. Thank you for your understanding.
Please note that the submission and registration are two separate parts. Only scholars who registered can receive a link to access the conference live streaming. The deadline for registration is 11th October 2024.

- Deadline for abstract submission: 18 June 2024.
- Announcement of oral and poster abstract results: 16 August 2024. You will be notified of the acceptance of an oral/poster presentation in a separate email.
Certificates of Participation are available in your logged-in area of Sciforum.net, under “My Certificates” after the conference.
Abstract submissions should be completed online by registering with www.sciforum.net and using the "Submit Abstract" function once logged into the system. No physical template is necessary.
- The abstract structure should include the introduction, methods, results, and conclusions sections of about 200–300 words in length.
- All accepted abstracts will be published as one dedicated volume in Proceedings journal (ISSN: 2504-3900). If you wish to publish a full-length proceedings paper, please refer to the “Publication Opportunities” Section.
- All abstracts should be submitted and presented in clear, publication-ready English with accurate grammar and spelling.
- You may submit multiple abstracts. However, only one abstract will be selected for oral presentation.
